Tour de Whidbey Saturday August 18th

The Tour de Whidbey is the Whidbey Island Bicycle Club's signature ride. Come join us and ride one of the most scenic rides in Washington. With many routes offered you can pick your distance ranging from 10, 33, 67, 100 or 167 miles with elevation gains of up to 10,000 feet.

BIKES is part of the North Puget Sound Bike Alliance (NPSBA) which will allow BIKES Club members to save $10 on registration for the Tour de Whidbey.

Chuckanut Classic Sunday August 26th


The Chuckanut Classic (formerly Chuckanut Century) is the Mount Baker Bicycle Club's signature ride. Come join us and ride one of the most scenic rides in Washington. With many routes offered you can pick your distance ranging from 25, 38, 62, or the full century of 100 miles.

BIKES is part of the North Puget Sound Bike Alliance (NPSBA) which will allow BIKES Club members to save $10 on registration for the Chuckanut Classic.

September BIKES Club Meeting

Mark your calendars: the 2nd Thursday of each month from September to May are BIKES Club meetings for members. 

  • Meetings start at 7 PM at the Snohomish County PUD building, 2320 California St., Everett, WA 98201
  • Optional dinner & pre-meeting socialization 5:30 PM at Brooklyn Bros Pizza, corner of Hewitt Ave & Lombard Ave in Everett

BIKES Club Poll #6 Has Started

The 6th BIKES Club poll about preferred Rest Stops has been e-mailed to members e-mail addresses. The link in the e-mail will take you to the polling page with more info. 

The 5th BIKES Club poll about Club Information (e-mailed 7 August 2018) will remain active for your response until 21 August 2018. 

Results of closed BIKES Club polls are available under the "Members-only" tab, then select "BIKES Polls 2018" to find .pdf copies of the general description and results:

These polls are provided to help ride leaders and other BIKES members understand better what the general club membership prefers regarding bike rides and other club matters.

Your responses to these polls will help shape the future of the BIKES Club.


Skagit Bike Club Hidden Gems Rides

On Saturday August 4th, there were 8 BIKES members who rode on the Skagit Bike Club's Hidden Gems rides. The Hidden Gems rides are free local rides hosted by each of the four member clubs of the North Puget Sound Bike Alliance through the summer months. The BIKES Club Hidden Gems rides were on July 7th. The Whidbey Bicycle Club will host the next Hidden Gems rides on Saturday September 8th. Details are in work!

Club Elections


We have a new slate of officers who have stepped up to the lead the club. Please welcome them and know that everyone has a part in making BIKES a friendly, active, safe, and engaging club. President: Rick Proctor. Vice President: Jim Bloss. Secretary: Kathy Riddle. Treasurer: Debby Grant.

The next club meeting will be in September. Until then, I hope to see you on a bike ride!

Want to know whenever someone posts a new ride or adds a change to the Ride Updates page? Visit the Ride Updates page and click on the “Subscribe to Forum” link. You will be prompted to log-in (use the email address where you get club mail). Then, go to the Member Only section / Member Profile page of the website.  Click the “Edit Profile” button and the “Email Subscriptions” link to how often you receive updates.  We recommend you set “Ride Updates” to be delivered “immediately.” Then click the “Save” button at the bottom.

How do I add to Ride Updates (Changes)?
Login and select Club Rides, Ride Updates.  Then select Create Topic. 

Put the following in the subject for the ride title:
"Day of Week, Month & Day, Start time, Title of Ride".

To Login, enter your email address for the User ID, then your password.  If you don't have a password, select "forgot password" and one will be sent to you and you can change it.
